MyFitnessPal's New AI Coach: What It Does and Where It's Available
Last updated: September 2026
MyFitnessPal launched AI Coach on June 10, 2026, describing it as personalized nutrition guidance built on the company’s food-logging data and nutrition expertise. Here’s what it actually does, and — more importantly — who can currently access it.
What It Does
AI Coach gives personalized feedback based on your logged meals, goals, and habits, answering nutrition and fitness questions and responding to what you’ve already logged. It’s reactive: it responds when you ask, rather than proactively generating a plan on its own.
Who Can Access It
Three separate restrictions apply, and all three matter:
- Subscription tier: Premium and Premium+ subscribers only — not available on the free tier.
- Platform: iOS only, at launch. Android users don’t currently have access, regardless of subscription tier.
- Region: live only in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Where It’s Not Available
That region list notably excludes India and the Philippines — markets with large numbers of MyFitnessPal users and, more broadly, some of the fastest-growing interest in AI health coaching globally. For now, users in those regions don’t have access to AI Coach regardless of subscription tier or platform.
How This Compares
For context on how this fits into MyFitnessPal’s broader feature set — including its food database and the separate Plan tab — see our full MyFitnessPal comparison, which also covers AI coaching options that are available in India and the Philippines today.
The Practical Takeaway
If you’re outside the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, or on Android, or on MyFitnessPal’s free tier, AI Coach isn’t something you can use yet regardless of interest — worth knowing before choosing an app based on this specific feature.
